Junk journal

Made three faith junk journals

I made another three paper-bag junk journals, this time a faith journal series.

Each is made with lots of Bible pages and Bible illustrations mixed with writing papers and decorative pages. They make great prayer journals, devotional journals, or just an inspirational journal.

The first one is Daniel and David themed. The second one is birth and children themed. The third focuses on well-known passages and verses.

Made a third silhouette junk journal

I made another junk journal in this silhouette series.

I made this one a mix of vintage and colourful with a whole variety of papers: paper bags, envelopes, note paper, scrapbook paper, magazine pages, book pages, music paper, colouring pages.

The range of papers is one of the reasons I love junk journals so much. It makes it so interesting and more engaging than a blank journal with white pages all the same.

Here’s a look at some of the pages:

Here are the three journals in the series:

Book haul for junk journals

I picked up these twenty books from a neighbour yesterday.

She knew I made junk journals and asked me if I’d like to go to her house and pick out some old books that she was going to get rid of.

Of course I jumped at the offer. I could have taken more books but I didn’t want to fill my house with them. Not until I have a better storage and production system, at least.

I took a whole bunch of books for their covers. Some I took for their pictures, and others for their pages that I can use in junk journals.

Time to get busy crafting!

Green vintage junk journal

I made a second journal in this book cover series, this time a green one.

I made it in the vintage style with coffee-dyed papers and my usual range of papers that include music paper, book pages, scrapbook paper, paper bags, note paper, colouring pages, and magazine pages from my favourite magazine called Daphne’s Diary.

I also included some Project Life cards and some flaps, pockets, and an envelope.

Junk journal

Latest junk journal made from a paper bag

This is my latest personal junk journal. I was inspired to make it when I saw a fellow journaler create one to record her journaling ideas and happy mail.

I’m going to use mine to record the journals I make, inspiration, people to send happy mail to, craft items to buy, etc.

I started by going through my craft supplies and gathering anything blue or vintage.

I made this journal out of a paper bag, also inspired by a fellow journaler who made such a beautiful journal.

Who knew a paper bag could turn into something so amazing.

I decorated the cover with some journal cards I got from happy mail and I love that I can store the leftover ones in the opening of the bag on the cover.

I included scrapbook paper, papers I got from happy mail, note paper, and other random papers.

The aim was to have as much writing space as possible.

I also embellished the pages to add interest and so I don’t have to decorate later; I can just concentrate on writing.

Some of the embellishments I made and were inspired by fellow junk journalers.

Love this journal!

Here are the videos that inspired it.
